Description

Position Overview: Orlando Precision is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator/Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in engineering and manufacturing processes, with a focus on spring manufacturing, metal stamping, and tube forming. This role involves evaluating project specifications, preparing cost estimates, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate estimates for spring manufacturing, metal stamping, and tube forming projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to gather information required for accurate costing, part planning and project planning.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material, labor, overhead, and production costs, using advanced estimation software and tools.
  • Evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate pricing for raw materials and components.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to determine project viability.
  • Review and update estimates based on changes in project scope, materials, or design.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and contract documentation.
  • Monitor project progress, providing timely updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Stay current with industry specs,  trends, regulations, and best practices in manufacturing processes.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimation or engineering within the spring manufacturing, metal stamping, or tube forming industries.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software and estimation tools.
  • Excellent analytical and math skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with cost accounting and financial analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards relevant to the industry.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Lawful Permanent Resident/Green Card holder) in order to comply with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification in various software such as Advanced Spring Design, solidworks, mastercam, etc..
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
